Many people are not sure how to interact with other people. For so long many students were kept in the same homogeneous group that they attended school with. Being in a new environment everyone is scared and nervous but usually willing to make friends. You make face some ignorant people with no tolerance for diversity but don't let that or anything stand in the way of why you are at Miami; to get the best educations any public institution has to offer. Extra-curriculars:  I am the VP of the Lambda Mu chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the VP of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, here on campus. My Advice for a High School Senior: "Please, take as many AP classes as your school has to offer. Regardless of what you may place on the exam, it is one of the best ways to prepare yourself for college. It will also set you apart from other students when applying to different schools. Finally when you get on campus, GET INVOLVED. Many campuses have a lot to offer, and it is within these clubs and organizations that you get the first opportunity to put to use what you have learned in the classroom so that when you get into the workforce those skills are polished.”
