Top 3 reasons I chose Honors at Miami...
1) First, you should choose the H&S program because of its high academic reputation.

2) Secondly, there are many "perks" if you will of joining the program. Priority scheduling, for instance, can assist you in meeting requrements for double majoring or in securing a tight schedule.

3) Lastly, the other people in the program are typically in some of the same classes and form a very comfortable community of first year students. The intellectual climate is also similar within the program. The honors classes are structured to meet the needs of strong students, allowing things like group work to actually be enjoyable for everyone involved.

Extra-curriculars:
I love to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy traveling both domestically and abroad and reading in my spare time. Staying busy is important to me and I love to watch almost any sport. In high school, I was heavily involved with marching band and the theater department.

My Advice for a High School Senior:

"First of all, just relax and take a breath. Organize what characteristics are most important to you as the student and find the college that fits you the best. Beware of deadlines! Scholarships, testing dates, and admission requirements are stringent with their due dates and missing out because of disorganization would be a bummer! Also, be sure to find a campus that you can see yourself living on for four years. There's more to college than just academics.
