What suprised me most when I arrived at Miami...
I have only spent two weeks on campus thus far so this question seems especially relevant to my current daily life. What really surprises me about school is the teaching staff and the interaction of faculty and students on a day to day basis. For some reason before I started at Miami I pictured huge lecture halls and monotone voices whenever thinking about college. But that picture could not have been more wrong! The staff is fabulous and very willing to help. Every class that I am enrolled in has both a personal and inviting atmosphere. My boring and inaccurate picture of college classes was dispelled the moment I stepped foot into a Miami classroom, and I could not be more relieved!

Extra-curriculars:
I love just about everything. Of course I dedicate a lot of time to my studies, but whenever I have the chance I like to read, run, exercise, and i LOVE to laugh. Because I just started my first year at Miami, I have only just recently begun to investigate the vast list of different clubs, events and activities the University has to offer. I cannot wait to add more loves to my list!

This is one of my favorite pictures. It was taken just last year at my high school Senior Tea. My younger sister is sitting next to me on the right, I am wearing a hat on the left.

My Advice for a High School Senior:

"
Do not procrastinate!! Application deadlines and scholarship opportunities tend to creep up on you in the excitement of senior year. Try to get those done early so that you will not be stressed out come winter and spring. Remember to also keep an open mind, you never know what college campus you might just fall in love with! On that note, be sure to visit each of your final choices at least once.. preferably during the school year so that you can really get a feel for life on campus."
