What surprised me most when I arrived at Miami...
I was surprised at how easy it was to fit in at Miami University. Everybody was extremely nice from the day I arrived on campus. Involvement in campus organizations really helped me to find other students who share my interests, and I found my place here right away. I was also surprised that at how many different kinds of people there are at Miami, and I have discovered that you can learn something from everyone.

Extra-curriculars:

I am really involved in the Jewish Community at Miami. I am on the board of the Association of Jewish Students (AJS), which is the student-run leadership of Hillel, and I represent AJS on the Diversity Affairs Council. I am also on the board of Miami Students for Israel (MSI, which, by the way, is not specifically a Jewish group). In addition, I do research on membrane proteins in the biochemistry department, and I am a part of Miami Chemical Society. I also like to attend programs and lectures of other diverse groups and political groups on campus.

This was at a program at Miami last year where we learned about critters.

My Advice for a High School Senior:

"The advice I would give is to always keep in mind that most people end up loving the school that they go to. I was really stressed out in high school about making such an important decision, but I wish I enjoyed the college search process more. Miami was not my first choice and I was worried about coming here, but in the end, I love it here. Most of my friends from high school also love the colleges that they decided to go to, so really, get excited about college, no matter where you end up."
