Honors Students Receive Elite Miami Award (07/06/2009)
Eight of the nine recipients of the 2009 winners of the Provost Student Academic Achievement Award are members of the University Honors Program. Congratulations to Iordan Ganev, Preston Parry, Holly Slonecker, Benjamin Walker, Michael Eilers, James Muruthi, Nicole Mitchell, and Matthew Price for receiving this top award for outstanding achievement in academic study at Miami.
Honors Alums Publish in Major Science Journal (07/06/2009)
Justin Newstadt (’07) and Nidhi Subbaraman (’09) are part of a team who published the cover article in the May 2009 issue of The Journal of Magnetic Resonance which is based on their research as undergraduates at Miami. Their article focuses on their new method for probing the structural properties of membrane proteins using EPR spectroscopy and solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
