In addition to teaching honors courses or leading honors co-curricular program, Miami faculty and staff can contribute to the University Honors Program in three important ways:
|
| 1. Serve as the departmental liaison to the University Honors Program: |
Departmental liaisons are the point of contact for University Honors students who are pursuing a major in that department. The University Honors Program exchanges key information with the liaison to better ensure that students are given consistent messages about their progress.
|
| 2.
Review student applications and portfolios: |
Reviewers are asked to attend a short training session to learn how to score and review applications or portfolios, using a rubric.
|
| 3. Serve on one of our three advisory committees: |
- Honors & Scholars Program Advisory Committee (which is a University Senate committee, approves all curricular policies and courses and reviews student portfolios);
- Honors & Scholars Program Admission and Recruitment Committee (which approves all admission policies and reviews high school student applications);
- Honors & Scholars Program Community Committee (which approves all co-curricular policies and co-curricular program and reviews student portfolios).
