Dr.
Antonio Curet is an anthropologist at
The Field Museum in Chicago, Illinois.
His doctorate is from Arizona State University,
and his research examines social stratification
and complexity. Dr. Curet’s research
sites have included the Valley of Maunabo,
Puerto Rico, and the Proyecto Arqueológico
La Mixtequilla, Veracruz, Mexico. More
recently, he has conducted excavations
in the earliest ceremonial center of the
Caribbean, Tibes in southern Puerto Rico.
His research examines changes in the social
organization and economy of households
and their relationship to the development
of social inequality in ancient Puerto
Rico.
